We've reduced our EU delivery fee to £8.50 from £11.95 August 23, 2016 21:17
As regular online shoppers ourselves, we know how it feels when we find a product we want, at a price we like, add it to cart and then when we get to the checkout page, we get confronted with a delivery fee which suddenly makes our purchase a little more expensive than we’d like…
At toyhood, we try to be fair with our delivery fees. Our fee for standard delivery in the UK is £2.85 which is how much it will cost for 2nd Class postage with the Royal Mail. So we don’t make money from the delivery and we absorb the packaging costs (we recycle where possible!). There will be occasions when delivery will cost less than the delivery fee paid by a customer: i.e., for smaller and lighter orders but likewise, there are times when the delivery will cost more than the delivery fee paid by the customer. On average, the fee paid by our customers is the actual cost of the delivery.
Shipping to EU countries is a relatively new thing for us so we’re learning as we go along. We started our standard shipping rate at £11.95 to cover all orders big and small but have found recently that it is costing less to ship than expected so we have reduced our standard delivery fee to £9.00 which we feel is a fairer price to our EU customers!
